Museum of African American heritage that span more that 450 of local history and culture through exhibits, educational programs and live performance. Museum is housed in the landmark Excelsior High School that was the first Black high school in the county built in 1925. The museum offers daily exhibits on precolonial history, civil rights, and Lincolnville Lifeways through photographs, interactive displays, artifacts and vignettes. Live performances of jazz, theatre and other cultural and educational programming offered in the second floor multifunction space which is also available for rental.
